Its limestone mountains follow the mountain system from mainland Greece and in Western Crete.

Experience a little bit of paradise at the Cabana Mare Beach Club at Agia Marina, one of the most renowned resort towns in Chania. This long, sandy beach offers many facilities, including friendly beach bars and small, atmospheric taverns.

Touch upon slices of Chania’s history across the ages from the Minoans, to the Romans, the Byzantines, the Arabs, the Venetians and Ottomans until today. Perched above the busy port of Souda is the archaeological site of Aptera, a site first inhabited by the Minoans in the 14th century who selected the area for its strategic importance overlooking the ancient sea ports.
